Vallaure, who years ago was the Consul in
Miami and has also served as Spain´s Ambassador to Angola and to the
Netherlands, was accompanied by Manuel
Valle, the Spanish Embassy´s Trade Commissioner in the United States.
After a visit to the modern laboratory
installations of AGQ Labs at these facilities, they met with Jesse Calvillo,
AGQ Labs´ Laboratory Director; Tenesor Pena, CEO of AGQ Labs in the USA, and
Pedro Torres, Corporate Director for North America.
AGQ Labs established
its U.S. facilities in 2011. In these six years, it has become a strategic supplier of technology
for the leading production companies of the agro-foods industry. It also
provides the service of controlling food product imports, as a laboratory recognized
by the FDA to conduct analysis to release FDA detentions placed at the border
when food safety problems appear.
The Consul and the Trade Commissioner both
highlighted the state-of-the-art equipment of AGQ Labs USA, the high
qualifications and dedication of its personnel, and the company´s innovative
nature. They also mentioned the scarcity of Spanish companies in California.
According to Manuel Valle ´our registries only list some 80 Spanish companies
established here, which is an extremely low number when compared to other
countries. For example, in Chile, which is the equivalent to one-third of
California, there are approximately 500.´
