Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/585 of April 27, 2020 on a coordinated multi-annual Union control program for 2021, 2022 and 2023 has been published to ensure compliance with pesticide MRLs in food of both plant and animal origin and to assess the degree of exposure of consumers to these residues.

Results of the analyzes to be carried out by the different Member States will be collected and made available to EFSA to assess the situation. 638 samples will be analyzed for a minimum of 32 food products, which are already established in Annex I part A and B.

Control pesticides are found in parts C and D of annex I of Regulation 2020/585 and are, among many others, Fosetyl-Al, Glyphosate, Glufosinate, Ethephon, Prochloraz, Pendimethalin, Mepicuat, etc.

The results obtained from these controls will help the EU to modify values in the controlled pesticides based on the results obtained. These programs collect data apart from all official control activity carried out by the competent authorities in each of the Member States. However, it is important that we know about the existence of these actions, since it is very likely that samples will be taken from the official control to obtain data on these pesticides.
